Weebly-
Me and my group developed our skills but making a weebly website to upload our work as oppsed to just doing it on a word document. The website allowed me to be creative while being sophisticated when just uploading you work. When the teacher first introduced it to us, i found it very confusing but after exprementing by myself and with the people in my group i can use it like anything. The tutorial that was shown to us first helped alot as it showed us step by step what to do. Now it is a fun way of showing the hard work that we have achieved, while looks great too.
Storyboard That-
In the planning stage of this project, we needed some way of storyboarding what we intend the music video to be. Instead of drawing the story board like what we have been doing for 5 years before, we decided to use Storyboardthat.com. This used IT skills as creating a proffesional looking storyboard and it wasnt hard atall. It was surprising as we could do a 60 shot storyboaerd in under 2 hours, yet if we drew it all out it would of taken us 2 days. This skills development example didnt only save us time, it saved us the embarrasment of our drawings. It is proffessional looking and you can clearly see the camera angles ans shots that we want, in the animated drawings.
Music Metric-
This site was used to get information about the target audience for our chosen bands/artists to research. It was said by the teacher as a suggestion and i thought it would expand my skills, as this is what proffesional people in the music business look at to see how people are doing, in terms of their bands. This was used instead of simple websites like wikipedia to enhance our knowledge of audience demographics. You had to sign up to this website which made me confident that the information i recieved is accurate and true, where website like wikipedia may not be the case.
Screen Hunter-
Even though screen hunter is a development of my skills; it is a much easier way of evidenting your work. Print screening is a much longer way of getting something you want if copying and pasting fails; as it takes a shot of the surroundings that you dont want. Screen hunter lets you capture exactly what you want and saves directly to a 'my pictures' folder in my area. This was a really easy way of documenting my work, and i would recommend it to anyone.
Adobe Photoshop-
This was the software where my skills were developed the most. We used Adobe Photoshop on absoloutely everything in this project. I knew the basic things on photshop from last year, but i knew there was so much more to achieve, but i just did not know how to. Through hours of playing around with it, and researching how to do various thing on sites suh as youtube; i now know how to do so much. For example, using the burn tool to remove the white outline around a cropped image, or even layering two images on top of another to make it look like an effect. We used it on our digipak and print advert, making them both look so proffesional and good. Im very proud of what me and my team did with them.
Sony Vegas Pro-
My team and i was thrown into the deep end when it came to Sony vegas. I know that i have very little knowledge of video editing, so this was something that challenged us. I liked that it challenged us as it made me work harder on it, and i wasnt going to have the excuse of, 'my video was not that good because i had never used sont vegas before'. After researching hard, on how to do what we wanted, we managed to use Sony Vegas with ease. We know know how to split screen, colour isolate, cut, slow down a clip, make a clip fast and much much more. I think Sony Vegas is a skill that i will carry on through my life as i enjoyed it that much.
Cannon EOS 600 Camera-
I thought learning how to use this camera was fairly simple and and easy. I just treated it very gently and protected it greatly as if something happened to it, it would not of been pleasant. It was an expensive camera, and you could see that through the quality of the photos and the videos we took. When our teacher showed us to white balance, it was difficult to remember what she said, which took some playing arouind with, but once we remembered it was easy. As for steady cam and focus shift, it was very easy and very fun too. Compared with AS work, and the cameras we used then, it is very more advanced and very much more developed.
Prezi-
I used this website because we thought that it looked like a brilliant way of using all of our media skills to evaluate what we have done while having fun at the same time. We could add youtube videos, audio and pictures where you couldnt do in microsoft word, where we would of normally did you evaluation. It also looks visually attractive, which is what hard work should look like.
