Weebly-
My group and I developed our website together. We discovered the website Weebly.com and picked up on how to operate it relitively quickly, as it was clear and simple. It also gave us a brief tutorial on how to construct our websites front page and from there the instructions were relitively self explanitory. We worked together around one computer screen on our first session of creating the website so that we could all take in the tutorial together and once we understood how to work Weebly.com we began to work seperately, making improvements for ourselves by using our initiative.
Storyboard That-
We created storyboards seperately on a website called Storyboardthat.com that allowed us to gain an insight to more creative ways to design our coursework. It has shown me more efficient ways of doing my evaluation by discovering I am quickly and easily create a 60 shot storyboard by using a website. By utilising the internet in this way, we were able to manage our time efficiently and create a better looking and easy to understand storyboard.
Music Metric-
We used Musicmetric.com to make reasearch into our audience demographics simpler. I had never used this website before but I decided to expand my skills past just looking on wikipedia, to signing up to a website subscription and only finding the most relevant and factual information. This meant that my research was more accurate and the information was more useful to helping our final products to look professional and effective.
Screen Hunter-
I used Screen Hunter as opposed to simply just print screening my evidence because it was a safer method of gathering eveidence. This is because I learnt last year that sometimes computers can be unreliable and if a sytem crash occurs, and I lose my work, I then must go and print screen all my eveidence over again. This wastes so much time. By updating my skills and learning how to function Screen Hunter, any evidence I capture is saved directly to a 'My Pictures' folder, so I do not have to re-trace all my evidence.
Adobe Photoshop-
When editing our print ad and digipak I had to explore Photoshop, to an extent, in order to see what effects we could achieve. I stumbled upon both the Magnetic Lasso Tool and the Burn Tool. Both of these were very helpful and both of these are featured in our final digipak and print ad. I was able to achieve more attractive and conventional looking final products because of my own desire to advance my skills.
Sony Vegas Pro-
This was a completely new element of media, for me, as I'd never had the chance to edit videos before. By foucusing on a brief tutorial and making use of my limited knowledge of editing software I was able to contribute to the Colour Isolation and other elements of editing that are showcased in our final video.
Cannon EOS 600 Camera-
Learning how to focus shift, steady cam and white balance on a brand new camera was difficult but worth it. The quality of the photographs made editing much easier and made a massive amount of difference to how professional the end product looked. When i compare the skills that I have learnt this year on an advanced camera compared to the photos i took for my AS media product (on my iPhone) I can definitely see a change for the better.
Prezi-
We used Prezi.com to make the presentation of our website simpler and more attractive. Rather than uploading our evaluation in one big block of text, or a screen print of a Word Documaent, our evaluations are displayed in a colourful and interactive way, adding to the professional tone of our website.
