Before starting our music video, we thought that it would be an extremely good idea to assess the possible risks of our locations, so that we could be aware of them and make sure that they were avoided when out on set.
Graveyard - Location #1
- Tripping Hazards - There are lots of gravestones and memorial plaques meaning that we need to be very careful when walking through the graveyard. We also need to make sure that we show our respects and stay clear of people's graves.
- Lighting Pods - Scattered around the graveyard are lighting pods. We need to be aware of where exactly they are to make sure that we do not trip or accidentally use the lighting in our shots to vary the colour balances.
- Rain - This could affect the footage as some shots would be darker compared to others. Also, equipment needs to be kept undercover and clear of any wet weather. If the rain starts to become heavy, we will need to finish our filming straight away and make sure the equipment is put away safely.
- People - We need to be aware of possible people visiting the grave yard. We cannot have passers by in our footage.
London Skyline - Location #2
- Cars - Special care is needed when filming the city skyline as it involves standing on the edge of the road and moving to various different places in order to get a range of camera angles. We also need to be aware of cars that are speeding or travelling on wet surfaces.
- Equipment - Falling over equipment is a big hazard because at times we may be in a rush to move for people wanting to get past us. We need to ensure extra care is taken.
- People - We don't want people walking past to get into any of our shots so one of us needs to be on look out at all times to check for people coming.
Road - Location #3
- Cars - When we are crossing the road to film different pieces of footage, we need to be aware of cars and the speeds that they are going. We also need to take into account of where we are filming to make sure that they don't enter any of our shots.
- Tripping Hazards - As we will be moving around whilst filming on the road, we will need to be aware of where all the equipment is.
- People - We don't want people walking past to get into any of our shots so one of us needs to be on look out at all times to check for people coming.
Library - Location #4
- People - We need to be aware that we are filming in a quiet area and therefore keep our noise levels down. We also need to make sure that nobody gets into any footage apart from our actors.
- Tripping Hazards - We could trip over a table or bookcase whilst filming the trolley shot. Extra care with the camera and tripod needs to be taken.
- Bookcases - As we are moving around the bookcases, we need to make sure no books fall on any equipment or ourselves as it could do some damage if falling from a height.
- Lighting - As the rest of our footage is shot outside, we need to be aware of lighting to make sure the shots are not too bright.
- Electrical Sockets - When going near computers, we need to be careful with the equipment to make sure nothing gets tangled up.
Car Scene - Location #5
- Braking - If the driver needs to break or carry out an emergency stop at any point during the journey, we need to make sure that the camera is kept secure and doesn't go flying around. This goes for all of the equipment.
Drama Studio - Location #6
- Lighting and Electrical Sockets - Our crew members need to be careful when moving around in the studio due to all of the wires for the stage lights.
- Equipment - All of the cameras and tripods need to be kept secure on a flat service and watched at all times.
- Slippery Floor - When our main actor is performing his dancing piece, we need to be careful of him falling as the floor is relatively slippery.
