Weebly - 3rd October 2013
The first programme that I have learnt how to use is Weebly. This is a website which we are using to display all of our coursework. From experimenting on this website, I have learnt how to create new pages and how to add different tabs under the page names which we have used to display all our coursework on. After logging into weebly, I was able to gain a clear and simple understanding of what I was doing through the use of the free tutorial available for me to use. I have also learnt how to add images onto the pages and how to present the work in the correct way so that it is of a high quality. I have managed to learn about this website through the use of experimentation and my peers help.
StoryboardThat - 3rd October 2013
I have also learnt about a storyboard website called StoryboardThat. I have been using this website to create storyboards for my music video in a professional manner. This website has allowed me to discover a different way of completing storyboards as it is a lot more interactive to use. To find this website, I went onto the internet and researched different websites that i could use to create storyboards, resulting in finding StoryboardThat. I also used my peers and experimentation once I had accessed the website to learn how to use it and the different tools available for me to use.
MusicMetric - 10th October 2013
I have used a specialist target audience website that I had to take out a subscription in order for me to join. This has helped me to understand the psychographics and demographics of the audiences that other indie rock bands target. When looking at target audiences for my AS Media portfolio, I only looked at Wikipedia which provided me with very limited information whereas this website allowed me to find out more accurate and reliable information.
Screen Hunter - 25th October 2013
This programme was used to print screen our research and analytical work of existing texts to upload the work to our website. After uploading print screens to the website, I realised that it worked better to copy and paste the text and images onto the website so that if I wanted to go back and edit something, it was extremely easy to do so.
Mindmap Version 2.0 - 10th November 2013
This is a programme that we used to note down our initial ideas on for our music video. This helped us to build on our ideas and develop them further. I learnt this with the help of my teacher.
Canon EOS 600 Camera - 7th January 2013
I have learnt how to use a brand new digital Canon camera and have been made aware of the different features that are available for us to use in order to film our music video and take pictures for our print advertisement and digipak. This includes things such as white balance, focus shift and steadi-cam.
Sony Vegas Pro - 20th February 2013
I have been introduced to a brand new editing software called Sony Vegas Pro. I have learnt how to include special effects, transitions and make use all of the short cut buttons. We have also used split screens, colour isolation and other editing techniques to draw in our audience in the final showcase of our music video. I learnt how to use this programme through experimentation, the help of my peers and watching tutorials on YouTube.
Adobe Photoshop - 3rd March 2013
I was relatively confident with using this software, however, I wasn't aware of all the different tools that were available for me to use in order to remove backgrounds, enhance colour balance levels and layering images. I used this programme when editing images for our print advertisement and digipak. I built on my skills through experimentation.
Prezi - 21st March 2013
I have used this programme to present our evaluations in a more interesting, interactive and exciting way. This is much more professional looking way of sharing our views and opinions for carrying out certain tasks. I learnt how to include videos, audio files, images and how to use different file templates. I learnt how to use this programme through experimentation and using the tutorials that were available on the website.
